MTN Nigeria in preparation for its listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange has appointed the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and current Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as one of its Non-Executive Directors.
MTN has also appointed the former Deputy Finance Minister of South Africa Mcebisi Jonas as its new group chairman.
It was also announced that the company will be having a separate board of influential people to advise on broader African issues. This board will be headed by Former South African President, Thabo Mbeki and will include former Ghanian president, John Kufuor.
MTN is expected to be become a public liability company and be listed on the exchange before 3rd quarter 2019.
