United Bank for Africa (UBA) has appointed Mr. Abdoul Aziz Dia as a Non-Executive Director on its board. The Board is confident that the appointment of Mr. Abdoul Aziz Dia to the Board would be instrumental in driving the Group’s growth strategy.
Mr. Abdoul Aziz Dia is a Senegalese citizen, is a seasoned professional with over 25 years banking experience from different parts of the world (UK, France, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Senegal, Kenya and Cote d’Ivoire).
Mr. Dia has served on various boards as an Executive Director, both in Europe and Africa. He holds a Master Degree in Statistics and Financial Mathematics from ENSAE in Paris and is a Harvard Business School Alumni for Advanced Management. He speaks 6 languages fluently (French, English, Romanian, German, Wolof and Fulani.
He is very experienced in Capital Market and Treasury. He has worked in several senior level positions with international financial institutions, like African Development Bank, Citigroup, Standard Chartered, ECOBANK and UBA Group (as Functional Head and General Manager).
Before joining UBA group as a Non- Executive Director, he served as the Senior Vice President, Group Treasurer in charge of FX, Fixed Income, Money Market and Group Balance sheet at ECOBANK.
