Check out the best looks for Met Gala 2019. Met Gala was originally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, it is an annual fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. It is considered as one of the world’s biggest fashion events.
The theme for the Met’s 2019 Costume Exhibition is “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” No, not camp as in sleeping bags and tents, but camp as in exaggerated fashion. This exhibit was inspired by Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay that defines camp as “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.”
Camp fashion was humorous, ironic and simply extreme in its nature, meaning you can already see Cardi B and Kim Kardashian slaying this year’s red carpet. Lets see the looks for the night.

Zendaya gave us some red carpet magic when she walked the red carpet with her stylist Law Roach, who was dressed as the Fairy Godmother. As Roach waved a magic ‘wand’, which had smoke streaming out of it, Zendaya’s gown began to twinkle in front of the cameras and slowly light up from the bottom.
Tracee Ellis Ross arrived in a black Moschino dress which was simple and understated, the look was made complete with a picture frame around her face making her look like a piece of art.

J-Lo was sported in a sparkly Versace dress that was covered in shiny paillettes. The dress had a plunging neckline and a dramatic thigh-high. The slit showed off her shoes: a pair of shiny silver ankle-strap sandals on a pin-thin stiletto heel.
Lady Gaga who was one of the event’s co-hosts, arrived in a billowing pink outfit, which opened up to reveal a black gown as her second outfit and was then cast aside in favour of Lady Gaga’s third outfit that revealed a slim-fitting pink gown she then took it off, to reveal her final outfit
She showed up to the Met Gala red carpet completely covered up, head to toe, in an anatomically accurate, oxblood custom Thom Browne gown that extends outward in concentric circles for about ten feet.
