Nigerian designer Lanre de Silva Ayaji has debuted her Spring 2017 collection, with a lookbook simply titled “Artistic.”
Collaborating with artist Mr Ayoola Gbolahan, Ayaji proposes floral flecked frocks, A-line dresses, and ruffle hemmed skirts fashioned out of Silk, Velvet, Lace, and Organza.
About the collection, Ayaji offers, “The beauty of imagination is limitless. I could see and analyze the feelings [my garments] would evoke in every woman. The feeling of not just pride alone but of strength and renowned dignity.”
Her collaborator, Ayoola Gbolahan adds, “Everything is a symbol with meanings. Images don’t just appear in my work as random decorative patterns alone. There’s a thought behind everything, a purpose to communicate.”
