Werner said that Thiago Silva was quick to apologise for his wife’s outburst during Chelsea’s Champions League first leg against Real Madrid in Spain.
Isabelle da Silva was furious when Werner missed a sitter during the clash against Real Madrid.
He confirmed Thiago Silva apologised to him and played down the incident, saying that things like this can happen when emotions are running high.
“Sometimes that can happen when the emotions are overflowing,” He told Sky Germany.
“Thiago also apologised directly to me the next day.
“That’s when the matter was ticked off. So I’m all the more happy today, not only for her but also with the other wives of my teammates!
“Hopefully me and the team can get them to cheer again. It’s for the best that the women that are at home are happy, and that the fans are happy.”
Werner made amends this week, scoring the opener as Chelsea beat Real Madrid 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to book their place in the Champions League final.
The comments from Thiago’s wife came after an unimpressive performance by Werner in a macth against Real Madrid.
