BBC interview-bombing kids could get their own cartoon pilot

The adorable toddlers who crashed the BBC’s interview with their father Robert Kelly are now being immortalised as a cartoon.

This is the world we live in — where 15 minutes of viral fame can be spun out into an internet phenomenon. It worked for Grumpy Cat, and now it’s happening for the children of Robert Kelly and Kim Jung-A, who gleefully crashed their father’s interview with the BBC about the impeachment of then-South Korean president Park Geun-hye.

With the blessing of the children’s parents, Jarryd Mandy and Lauren Martin have created a prologue for a cartoon series about the pair’s intrepid espionage adventures around the world. Renamed Mina and Jack (the real-life children are Marion and James), the pair are the Penny to their father’s Inspector Gadget, saving the day — and their dad!

“I thought it was so cute,” Kelly said. “My wife and I both laughed. They made me look suitably dorky.” So far only the prologue has been released, but according to the BBC, Mandy and Martin hope to create a full season once they receive financial backing. You can follow the show on Twitter.
