Buhari confirms Adamu as inspector general of police

Buhari confirms

Mohammed Adamu, the acting Inspector General of Police has been confirmed by the Council of State which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday as the new Inspector General of Police. Mohammed was appointed as the acting IGP on January 15 to replace former IGP, Ibrahim Idris.

Ahmad tweeted, “The Police Council chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari , confirmed Mohammed Adamu as the substantive Inspector General of Police (IGP).” Before he was appointed by the President, Adamu was an Assistant Inspector-General of Police serving at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, Plateau State.

The Police Council, which is chaired by the President, has all the state governors, minister of Interior, retired Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, chairman of the Police Service Commission, Mr. Musiliu Smith and the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Mbaeri Maurice Nnamdi, as members.
