Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State, yesterday inaugurated the Ease of Doing Business Council (EODBC), with the aim of developing the state and attracting investors.
Wike during the inauguration yesterday, pointed out that, the motion was of paramount significance to economic advancement of the state and urged the council to perk up perk up its investment environment. He said, “It is important that we have this council to improve the investment climate and create the environment that will attract investors to the state”.
He said, the council will draft programmes and policies to build a platform for the ease of doing business in Rivers State. Governor Wike said members of the council were sourced from both public and private sectors to make certain that all sectors were accommodated in the course to augment business opportunities in the state.
Wike also appointed the Deputy Governor, Ipalibo Harry Banigo to head this council because of the high level of importance the government attached to the council.
Banigo on her own path assured the governor and people of rivers state that the council would come up with policies that would not just enhance the investment climate but would also attract investors to the state. “The council is charged with the responsibility of evolving implementable strategies for businesses to thrive.
She added that the council would engage with public and private stakeholders to ensure that the right policies and programmes are built for the state.
