FIFA women’s ranking: Falcons retain 34th, remain Africa’s number one

African champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria were non movers as they remain 34th in the latest FIFA/Coca women’s world ranking released on Friday. This was announced on FIFA’s official website on Friday.

The latest rankings also shows that the Super Falcons remain number one in Africa. Black Queens of Ghana dropped one place from 45th to 46th in the rankings and are second in Africa. The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon, who as hosts, lost 1-0 to the Super Falcons in the final of last year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, maintained number 47 and occupy third spot on the continent.

Women’s world champions, the United States of America moved up one place to number one. In second place is former world champions Germany, France are in third position, in fourth is Canada. England are fifth, Japan sixth, Australia seventh, Brazil eight, Sweden ninth and North Korea 10th.

The next FIFA women’s ranking will be released on September 1st, 2017.
