President Buhari had suspended Onnoghen on allegation of complexities surrounding his false and non- asset declarations while the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) convicted him of the offences. Justice Tanko Muhammad was eventually appointed as Acting CJN to fill in the gap created.
