Saraki demands a review of twitter ban

Bukola Saraki, former Senate President has called for review of the suspension slammed on Twitter by President Muhammadu Buhari

Bukola Saraki

Saraki, who defied the ban on Monday, said the suspension should be reviewed because youths might lose jobs.

He also warned that investors interested in Nigeria were watching closely.

”For the jobs that millions of our young people could lose and for the current and prospective investors that are closely watching — we need to review this policy and #KeepItOn,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, had also disobeyed the ban.

El-Rufai, had in a post on the Platform, inferred that Nigeria has taught the US how to treat Tech giants.

Kumuyi also tweeted that contents on his page are targeted at a global audience in more than 5 continents and over 100 Nations.

While Adeboye said, “The Redeemed Christian Church of God is domiciled in more than 170 Nations & Territories. The tweets here are in accordance to Article 19 of the UN universal declaration of Human Rights.”

The twitter ban has received heavy backlash and has also shown the defiant side of Nigerians when it comes to things that they are passionate about. In this case, taking away a huge medium for expression.
