Presidential Election Tribunal

After the verdict of the Court of Appeal on Wednesday that overruled that victory given to the PDP Gubernatorial candidate Senator Ademola Adeleke at the Election Tribunal, therefore declaring Gov Oyetola as the winner of the 2018 polls.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the President of the Appeal court to stay away from the Presidential Election Tribunal because her husband is the Opposition All Progressives Party (APC) Senator-Elect. So they believe her judgment will be flawed.

On Thursday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, the President of the Court of Appeal to withdraw as a member of the five-man panel of the Presidential Election Tribunal.

PDP in a petition  signed by its National Chairman Uche Secondus and received at the President of the Court of Appeal’s office alleged that Bulkachuwa will be biased in her handling of the tribunal’s proceedings due to her husband being a Senator-Elect of the All Progressive Party.

Guardian Newspaper: Why Buhari reappointed Emefiele as CBN governor’

Yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari asked the Senate to confirm Godwin Emefiele for second term as Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Godwin Emefiele since his appointment by former president Goodluck Jonathan in 2014 has become the first CBN governor to serve two terms since Nigeria’s Democracy.

His reappointment is believed to be due to his great accomplishments in office.

Sun Newspaper: Insecurity: Buhari goes tough

President Buhari has given the service chiefs and other heads of security agencies directives to restore security across the country. He asked them to ensure Nigerians go to bed with their eyes closed, knowing that their security is guaranteed.
