Gov Fintiri boasts that PDP will teach APC a lesson again in Adamawa
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State says he and his party will once more teach opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) a lesson by ensuring that it fails badly in the 2023 election
Gov Fintiri ’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which was the main opposition party in Adamawa towards the 2019 election when the APC was in power through Sen Jibrilla Bindow as governor, had taught the APC a lesson by sweeping it out of power and establishing itself as the government party.
Gov Fintiri said in Yola on Thursday that APC failed the state in its four years (2015-2019) when the party had the opportunity to govern the state, adding that the party should not hope for anything come 2023.
Fintiri, who spoke when members of the state Forum of Councillors endorsed him for a second term, stressed that his PDP would be sure to triumph over APC and other parties.
“We will teach APC a bad lesson, they will lose all elections from Presidency to councillorship levels,” Fintiri said, adding that in the state, he would work harder to earn the people’s confidence.
“I’m prepared to do more as the remaining 16 months is going to be the best,” Fintiri said.
In a reaction to Fintiri’s boast, the APC says it has learnt from its mistake and will be one united and victorious party in 2023.
The state APC Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Abdullahi, said the party had embarked on genuine reconciliation with aggrieved members ahead of its February national convention in the state.
“By the time we are done with the reconciliation processes, APC will regain its lost glory,” Mohammed Abdullahi said.
