Ministerial list compilation wasn’t London trip agenda- Buhari

ministerial list

President Buhari has debunked the rumors that his private trip to London was for the compilation of his ministerial list for his second tenure. The President made this statement in Abuja on Sunday after his return from London, where he went for a 10- day private trip.

He emphasized on the fact that he never had the discussion about the new ministerial cabinet with anybody. In his words, “I didn’t discuss with anybody. So, I don’t know how they knew about it. I didn’t discuss it with anybody.’’

During his time away, the insurgency and bandits killing/kidnappings in the North has increased. This sparked criticism from the opposition People’s Democratic Party that the President owes it to Nigerians to explain why he went on the trip. Also the House of Representatives summoning the  Acting Inspector- General of Police to come and explain his plans to tackle the issue.

However the President when asked if there is a fresh approach to curtail the insurgency issue said that the  Acting Inspector- General is doing his best. He said “I have just seen the IG, I think he is losing weight; I think he is working very hard,’’ he said.
